Biography

Though he’s spent the past decade composing and performing folk-rock full-time, Rob Drabkin’s life was not always dedicated to music. He originally studied to become a doctor, but everything shifted right after he graduated college. As Rob says, “one night, while sitting in the mezzanine of my first Broadway play, listening to the cast’s harmonies fill the theater, I realized —almost painfully — that music wasn’t just something I enjoyed. It was the thing I had to do. In that moment I knew I needed to follow a different path, leaving science behind to pursue songwriting.”

Though based in Denver, Rob’s audience has grown internationally after his song, "It's a Beautiful Day" was licensed by BelVita for an ad campaign across Europe. It became a trending song on TikTok and Instagram, becoming one of the most widely-used songs to accompany video posts from users’ most joyful moments in life.

When not writing or recording, Rob is touring nationally and internationally as both a headliner and supporting artist. He’s shared the stage opening for acts such as The Head and The Heart, Trevor Hall, Mat Kearney, G. Love & Special Sauce and Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Internationally, Rob recently toured Rwanda and Uganda as part of the iKnow Concert Series and Tour du Rwanda, performing for crowds of up to 26,000 people.

At the heart of Rob’s music is a simple belief: love is always present. We can create it in the smallest, most unassuming moments of our lives, and share it through laughter, smiles, and sympathy. All we can do is keep being kind and have the courage to choose love in every decision we make.
